Much prefer the 70's recording but this is the only one I could find.

Here's some good stuff!

I had no idea that my Rebetiko friends included one who has a fine collection of Chinese opera on 78s, but it turns out to be so.

Anestis Delias is on the right in this picture...

This is my favourite of his very few recordings, the title means "Drunk and Stoned".

Sister, Sister and Brother.
Their Mother was in a band called The Raincoats. Kurt Cobain loved them.
And they're from North London.

Perhaps the most moving record ever

Jeff Buckley singing Leonard Cohen:
I'm in tears now.

Tim Buckley - Song to the Siren

Nothing but acoustic guitar and voice, but mesmerizing. This original is even more moving than Liz Fraser's version with This Mortal Coil.
Cheers, Tom.

A Split Second - Flesh

I know I know, there seems to be a bit of a acid/techno revival going on in this blog, but it's all good. And I know I was too young to really appreciate it at the time, but hey, it's universal ain't it?
I went to a party the other day thrown by some 30 somethings, and as there was a severe lack of good music going on (people putting any old crap they found on their ipod) i pulled out from my trusty wallet of CDs that I always take to parties Josh Winks Acid Classics - a mix he did for mixmag last year. Woohoo the party hit the roof, it was so good, you should have seen the look on the host's face when he heard the first few bars of Voodoo Ray. Thought I'd tell you that, sort of explains my current need for early rave. Although this particular song was not on the mix. -
Hot Chip - Boy From School (Erol Alkan Extended Rework)

I first heard this remix on NYE 2006 at about 7 in the morning. It changed a lot of how I listened to music. Epic tune, just beautiful. Of course I was tripping of my tits, but that doesn't belittle the experience.

The pictures are mine.
Cheers, Tom.
P.S. What genre would you say this song fits into?
