Have you heard Richie Blackmore's Rainbow playing Green Sleeves?
-
- 2008-05-31 @ 15:39:44
Indeed I have. So, do you know who those guys are by any chance?

Not for me it doesn't, it just plays in the same page.
Thanks for the information though, I didn't realise that was Jarre. I should have recognised him really.
Cheers, Tom.-

TBH I wouldn't have recognised him either. I've heard his own stuff and when he played with Zappa but that's it. x

Damn, I didn't know he'd ever played with Zappa. What was that on then? I've just done a quick google and couldn't find anything. I'm a bit of a Zappa fan, so that rather took me by surprise! I must be slipping.

I beg yer pardon ... it was Jean Luc Ponty I was thinking of. Soz, Seaside Man x

Phew! That explains it. I was racking my brain trying to think of which Zappa records he was on, so I am relieved it was Ponty you were thinking of. He's on both Hot Rats and Apostrophe, I think. Both classic Zappa albums, the 2nd of which features his excellent song Cosmic Debris.
Cheers, Tom.-

I have nothing but praise for the striving to be different here, but I don't really think this works. Rock and classical have never been very suitable bed-fellows with the possible exception of Stargazer by Richie Blackmore's Rainbow.
Thanks for posting this, it was interesting to hear something so genuinely different.
One question though: who are those guys?
Thanks, Tom.
